  1. I entered this contest in 2010, won the contemporary series category, got requests for the full manuscript from both the editor and the agent. I sold that book within six weeks and it was my first publication…Texas Two Step.

I got wonderful comments and advice from the first round judges and the editor and agent judges.

This contest has a history of producing published authors!

    I strong recommend it.

  2. Celia,

Thanks so much for promoting the Launching A Star contest. As you know, we’re painfully low on entries this year. And while that might cause my RWA chapter some headaches, it opens a wonderful door of opportunity to the people who enter–a better chance at getting your manuscript in front of acquiring editors and agents!

  3. I won the single title in 2011 and it was a wonderful experience! It was my first try at contemporary romance, and I was very enrvous to see the feedback. Everyone was helpful and the organizers were upbeat- love that!! I sold to Love Inspired a few months later and I know the feedback helped me polish that manuscript!

  4. HI Virginia, Congratulation on your contest win and sale. I agree about the great feedback and the helpful organizers. I’ll add that I especially liked the personal touch of calling the finalists. It was the best voice mail message I’ve ever received (I finaled in 2011 under another name). 🙂

  5. It’s so exciting to discover how well writers have done after they’re a finalist in STAR’s Launching A Star contest. Thank you for promoting the contest. We’re still low in entries compared to previous years, especially in the Inspirational category. So it’s a terrific time to enter!

  6. It’s encouraging to read all of the positive comments about this contest. This year was my second attempt, and I’m thrilled (and proud!) to be a finalist in my category. The judges’ comments so far have been very helpful.

I am so inspired by the success of all of you previous finalists and winners! Your words have given me hope that this crazy dream of mine might actually be possible after all.
