Next Big Thing Blog Hop imageAnd now it’s time for a fun Q&A brought to you by the NBTBH. Thanks to my writer pal and critique partner Georgia Lyn Hunter for tagging me in the hop.

I’ll tag other writers at the end of my post. I hope you enjoy learning about our work!

What is the title of your book?
Haven

What genre does your book come under?
Urban fantasy romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
We’d need actors in their mid 20s for Carina and Alexander, so I’d love the following actors and actresses to show up for a casting call:
For Carina – Elena Satine, Lilly Collins, and Giulia Elettra Gorietti
For Alexander – Ian Somerhalder and Kellan Lutz

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
San Francisco nightclub owner Carina Tranquilli discovers latent powers and struggles to makes peace with her vampire family, destiny, and soul mate–with Team Evil in hot pursuit.

Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency?
Published by Champagne Books

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Many, many months!

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Hm. Tricky question, that. In terms of audience appeal, Haven is for lovers of paranormal romance and romantic urban fantasy. As for a direct book-to-book comparison – I wrote the story I wanted to read, the story I hadn’t yet discovered out in the world.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
Excellent question! I delve into this very topic over at my second online home Paranormal Unbound. I wanted to write an urban fantasy about vampires and also explore the themes of Safety and Love… Read more –>

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Did I mention the vampires? LOL 😉

My vamps run the gamut from good and fairly well-behaved (unless provoked) to super naughty critters. They’re undead, sensitive to sun and silver, drink human blood, and possess a basic set of vamp-y skills including heightened senses and super strength. Some of the older vamps also possess unique powers.

Carina’s vampire family runs Team Good. Her family’s enemies make up Team Evil, of course. More story details available here –>
