Entangled Smack Down 2012

Entangled Publishing 2012 Nanowrimo Boot Camp Smack Down Hooray! I’m participating in the Entangled Publishing 2012 Smack Down over on the Savvy Author’s Web site.

Hey Celia, what is this Smack Down thing of which you speak?
Entangled Publishing editors are graciously working with registered participants to prep us for NaNoWriMo (aka National Novel Writing Month).

I’m on Team Covet. Covet = Entangled’s imprint for contemporary short romance with a paranormal twist. My story involves mermen and humans. And love with an HEA, of course. ☺

How does it work?
The Smack Down has three parts: Recruit Day, Basic Training, and Nano Boot Camp. For Recruit Day, we pitched and discussed our one page synopsis with the editors. We’re in Basic Training right now. Story discussions continue as well as lectures on craft and fun, writerly chats with our fellow participants. Nano Boot Camp begins November 1 and we’re expected to cross the 50K finish line on November 30. That’s right, 50,000 words in 30 days.

Yes. We. Can.

How do you feel?
Grateful. A big thank you to Entangled Publishing editors, Savvy Authors and Savvy Authors Special Event Coordinator Riley Darkes for arranging this event.

Best of luck to all of the imprint writing teams. Happy writing, everyone!

  1. I’m so happy for you that you have teams of people with whom to participate! Me, I know at least one person face to face, and several in cyberspace. I’m going to a local get together in 3 days where I’ll meet many more! Exciting times! My first NaNo.

  2. HI Sandra,
This is my fifth nanowrimo but the first time with a team of writers to cheer me on (and vice versa). That’s great you’ll have some in-person writerly support. Have fun!

  3. Celia,
So glad to see your awesome blog.
This is my second NaNo, but my first working with a team of writers. I think it will make all the difference.
Can’t wait to see those Word Counts soar.
    Go Team Covet!

  4. I am super excited about doing the smackdown with you, Celia! And, a little sad to be taking a break from my vampires stories. I love my Blood Vine boys so much, right now. But, I love #teamcovet too, just in a different way!

  5. I hear you, Amber. I love your Blood Vine boys, too! Haven’s vamps are snarling at me to write their second book already, so they can kick serious Team Evil butt, but my merman has first dibs on my creative time for the next month. He can’t help but smirk about that. 😉
